Alex Soojung-Kim Pang is information ecologist on the X2 project. He is a Research Director at the Institute for the Future, where he conducts work on the social and economic impacts of a variety of emerging technologies. and sciences. In 2008-2010 he is also serving as an Associate Fellow at the Said Business School at Oxford University. He is also a Senior Research Scholar in Stanford University's STS program.
Alex holds a B.A. and Ph.D. in history and sociology of science from the University of Pennsylvania, and postdoctoral fellowships at Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of Empire and the Sun: Victorian Solar Eclipse Expeditions (Stanford University Press, 2002), and numerous articles in scholarly and popular publications.
