Janie Busby Grant completed her PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Queensland, Australia. Her thesis examined the parallels between the development of certain types of memory and planning in preschool-aged children. Since that time she has been involved in a variety of projects, including research investigating tests of frontal lobe function among patients suffering from brain damage. Her background includes expertise in computer science and artificial intelligence, cognitive science, ecology, evolutionary studies, statistics and research methodology. Her research interests include mental time travel, episodic memory, perspective-taking and planning. She also has a keen interest in ethical issues in the sciences, particularly related to the appropriate communication of research findings. She is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Mental Health Research, Australian National University.
