As part of the University of Washignton Baker Lab's ongoing Foldit! project, a game that invites researchers as well as the public to simulate protein folding to discover novel structures, a competition was held between two research groups.
"After intense competition between scientific powerhouses, UC Berkeley
finally pulled ahead of University of Illinois to win by a razor-thin
9,278 to 9,250. This means Berkeley is ahead 1-0 in our three game
series. We're posting two more competition puzzles today which will
BOTH end next Wednesday. The winning team must win 2 of the 3 puzzles.
Congratulations to the members of both squads!"
